WHAT: Free COVID-19 test kits are now available to providers in all care settings and communities. LeadingAge members and nonmembers can sign up for kits on a weekly basis.
WHEN: Effective today, Jan. 5, 2022, providers can apply to receive free test kits by signing up via a link on LeadingAge.org, here.
HOW: Today’s news grows out of LeadingAge’s Dec. 22, 2022 announcement of its collaboration with the White House, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) to provide free COVID test kits to residents of Section 202 Housing for the Elderly.
As new COVID variants emerge, older adults – wherever they live – need access to COVID tests. LeadingAge’s expanded partnership with HHS helps its mission-driven, nonprofit members keep older adults and communities safe.
“Our national team strives to support members’ efforts to serve residents and the growth of our partnership with HHS is a perfect example,” says Katie Smith Sloan, president and CEO of LeadingAge, the association of nonprofit providers of aging services. “We are focused on what matters most and use our strong connections and relationships to fight for members and the people they serve.”
